To Experience Tuscany Through Marcia Adam’s Restaurant

March 15, 2017

I discovered Marcia Adam’s Restuarant through a Booky post: 20 of Tagaytay’s Best Kept Secret Restaurants. Seeing these kinds of posts makes me want to go to Tagaytay every weekend and try them. In my first visit, I had dinner along with my parents. I wasn’t able to take a lot of photos that time. Last Friday was my 2nd visit and was with my college best friend and a close friend.

We decided to have lunch in Marcia Adams. It was a good choice to have lunch in Marcia Adams on a weekday because we had the whole place to ourselves and we were not shy to take lots of photos. What I love about Marcia Adams is its ambiance – Tuscany setting. As you arrive, the first thing you will notice is their wooden door. Once you enter the main gate, you will get to see their garden. Their garden makes me feel at home and I felt like we were in a maze. You don’t have to worry though because there are signs that will point you to the right direction.

Our Set Meal in Marcia Adam’s

I ordered the following: Baba Ganoush (appetizer), Chicken Kebab (main dish), and Fried Bananas w/ Chocolate Dip (dessert). I find 700php to be just right. Along with your main course, you also have your own appetizer and dessert.  All you have to do is pick your desired appetizer and dessert. Debbie, my close friend, ordered Tzatiki w/ Lettuce Chips (appetizer), Chicken Kebab (main dish) and Strawberry Yoghurt Icecream w/ Berry Compote (dessert). Patty, my best friend, ordered Hummus w/ Whole Wheat Tortilla (appetizer), Chicken Kebab (main dish) and Panna Cotta w/ Lemon Sauce (dessert).

For the appetizers, I still preferred the Tzatiki w/ Lettuce Chips. I actually do know where you can buy lettuce chips. Just comment down below if you want to know where! For the dessert, I should have gotten Strawberry Yoghurt Icecream instead of the Fried Bananas. The fried bananas is good but I was not able to fully enjoy it because I was full from the main course.

Lime & Basil Thai Restaurant

May 11, 2016

Tagaytay holds a special place in my heart. Ever since I was a kid, we would usually go up to Tagaytay and have family bonding with my other cousins and relatives. With our bondings, we would usually go to different kinds of restaurants within the area. As we grew older, we didn’t get to have the time to go up to Tagaytay because tourists are starting to flock in and it seems to be the same restaurants all over again.

Since Mother’s Day is just around the corner, the parents and I decided to have an early celebration knowing that there would be a lot of people who would be celebrating this special occasion as well. We wanted a place where we haven’t tried eating in, something healthy and fulfilling and a hidden place where no one seems to really have discovered about it. Lime & Basil Thai Restaurant fits these categories very well.

Lime & Basil is a Thai restaurant and located at Alfonso, Cavite. This restaurant is near Marcia Adams & Ville Sommet. The gate of this restaurant can be found at your right side. You can only dine in this restaurant through reservation. But, I was able to ask the waiter if it is possible to do a walk-in. You can do a walk-in but during weekends and/or if the reservation list isn’t full.

I am glad I chose the right restaurant to celebrate Mother’s Day. As we went inside the venue, a big patio is located at your left side. At the back of the restaurant is their garden where they personally grow and handpick their ingredients. You can also buy through their small store located inside the restaurant.

For our dinner, we ordered the ff: Fresh Spring Rolls (240), Lime & Basil Salad (290), Soft Shelled Crab and Chicken. The food that we ordered was just right for the 3 of us. There was nothing new to the taste – typical Thai food. But what made it different is the ambiance of the place. Since we went there during the night time, the wind was cool and it was a good day to eat Thai food that time. The prices were just right as well. We would be glad to go back & experience Lime & Basil’s different dishes.
